Our Vision, Our Mission, & Our Roots
Established in 2004, Good Samaritan Outreach is a community nonprofit agency, catering to military veterans and non-veteran personnel from around the greater McAlester region. With a wide network and encompassing services, we do our best to leverage resources and connections from within the community for the betterment of our nation's disadvantaged.
Open to all honorably discharged and currently enlisted personnel, we are capable of helping hundreds of men and women every year. We optimize our efforts by keeping everything in house and under one roof. No one slips through the cracks here. Whether in the form of scholarships, certification programs, or corporate recruitment services, we make transitioning to the civilian world a lot easier.

Our mission at Good Samaritan Outreach is to love, feed, teach and house the people that have been left behind.
ROOTS OF GSO
GSO is led by a board of directors, member-based committees, and program development and operations staff. With the support of our community, we are able to accomplish our mission of advancing the less fortunate through Christian social and economic programs that give a hand up to those becoming self-sufficient in today’s society.
GSO Board of Directors
The GSO Board of Directors provides governance, sets strategic directions, and helps the association anticipate emerging issues.
Special Advisory Bodies
Special Advisory Bodies (To be determined from senior leaders of men and women shelters, local businesses and organizations to provide guidance on major initiatives.)
Annual Business Meeting
At this annual meeting, the Board of Directors and executive staff review the year's major accomplishments, the association's financial condition, and new program initiatives for the coming year. This meeting is open to all members.
Member Committees
Member committees are served by volunteers who contribute significantly to the quality and vigor of GSO programs and infuse an ever-changing, up-to-date cross-section of knowledge and expertise.
GSO Bylaws
GSO Bylaws define the association's operational policies and procedures, including the definition of membership and the duties of the Board of Directors.
